Sea Fibre Networks expands fibre route to Frankfurt

Sea Fibre Networks, owner of CeltixConnect, has announced the expansion if its C-Fibre portfolio from its Dublin to Frankfurt route via London.

The carrier neutral fibre provider will now offer end-to-end fibre solutions from the two cities, which now reportedly supplies 35% of European internet traffic.

The Frankfurt internet exchange, DE-CIX, peaked at an all time high of 2.4Tbps on January 20 2013. It connects with a range of partners, including Telehouse, Equinix, Interxion and Level 3, making Frankfurt a strategic and secure location within Europe’s largest economy, ensuring a well connected point of presence.

The strategic link is designed to provide internet-based multinationals and European traders with low latency data connectivity, and works under one industry-leading SLA.

Connecting Ireland and Frankfurt, according to a statement issued by Sea Fibre Networks, “enables top multinationals and providers the ability to offer their customers the most modern fibre route to one of the strongest economic hubs of Europe”.

“This new route is key to the expansion plans of Sea Fibre Networks as it looks to create various strategic links across Europe,” said Diane Hodnett, CEO of Sea Fibre Networks. “SFN now connects Dublin, London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt and upon completion of FastnetConnect, will connect Paris on dedicated diverse fibre.”
