European operator Interoute has announced the ISO 27001 certification of its Paris data centre operation.

The certification means its data centre has attained an internationally recognised information security management best practise standard for security and risk management.

Six of Interoute’s nine European data centres have achieved the standard.

Data security has become increasingly important for enterprises in protecting data from ICT solution providers.

Interoute’s security controls ensure protection from organisations to leverage cost and technical flexibility of the cloud, while protecting privacy of data assets.

Outsourcing security is a major cost cutter for ICT business providers.

“Interoute’s Enterprise Security Management System means organisations’ critical data and ICT infrastructure are protected with best practise security and risk controls,” said Joe Stevens, chief security and risk officer at Interoute.

The company has placed an increasing emphasis on security, hosting and cloud solutions for enterprises over the past few years.

It provides dedicated capacity and protected transmission products, including MPLS VPN, DDoS protection, firewalls, intrusion detection and protection services, as well as secure managed hosting solutions and private clouds.
