Vodafone creates group enterprise unit and further CWW integration

Vodafone has announced the creation of a new group enterprise unit effective January 1 2013.

Present Cable & Wireless Worldwide (CWW) CEO Nick Jeffery will be appointed as group enterprise director, and will take charge of the new unit.

Vodafone completed a deal to acquire CWW in April this year.

The new unit will have four different verticals, including Vodafone Global Enterprise, Vodafone Carrier Services, Machine to Machine Solutions and Hosting and Cloud Services.

The units will have presence in 50 countries, and Vodafone outlined further plans for integration of CWW in its wider operations.

From January 1 2013 CWW’s UK enterprise business will be matched with Vodafone’s UK enterprise business and the company’s international businesses, including carrier, hosting and cloud services will also be merged within the group enterprise entity.

Vodafone said the creation of a group enterprise unit and acceleration of CWW’s integration will allow the company to further build on strength in the enterprise segment.

In September, Vodafone announced that integration costs will reach £500 million by March 2016. This, however, will also expect cash flow synergies of £150 million to £200 million by the same period, resulting in free cash flow for the group of between £250 million to £300 million from the CWW acquisition.
