Inteliquent, the combined brand of Neutral Tandem and Tinet, has announced the establishment of a Turkish subsidiary and a strategic alliance with local provider Turkcell Superonline.

Through the subsidiary and alliance, Inteliquent intends to expand its operations and will soon begin offering services to Turkey and the Middle East via a PoP hosted in a Turkcell Superonline data centre in Istanbul.

The agreement with Turkcell Superonline will enable Inteliquent to become an international provider of IP transit and Ethernet network services from the PoP.

"Given the importance of the Turkish market, we wanted to work with Turkey’s innovative telecoms operator, Turkcell Superonline,” said Surendra Saboo, president and COO of Inteliquent. “We are pleased to be working with Turkcell Superonline, and look forward to strengthening our presence in the region.”

“This alliance marks an important step promoting Turkey as an intersection point for the global communication network. We believe that our cooperation with Inteliquent, as one of our global Tier 1 partners, will enhance our service suite for our customers and contribute to the region’s internet services,” said Murat Erkan, general manager of Turkcell Superonline.

It is believed that the agreement was reached at the Capacity Eurasia event in Istanbul.
