Primary rounds of Romanian spectrum auction get underway

The primary rounds of the Romanian spectrum auction are set to continue today as regulator Ancom looks to allocate frequencies in the 800, 900, 1800 and 2600 MHz bands.

Operators participating in the auction are said to include 2K Telecom, Cosmote Romanian Mobile Telecommunications, Orange Romania, RCS & RDS and Vodafone Romania.

According to local sources, the minimum price for each block in the 800MHz, 900MHZ and 1800MHZ will be €35 million, €40 million and €10 million respectively.

The minimum price per paired block in the 2600MHz band is €4 million, while per unpaired block is €3 million.
