Mobile cloud-based enterprise services to reach $39 billion in 2016
25 September 2011 |
Revenues from mobile cloud-based enterprise services are predicted to grow to as much as $39 billion by 2016, according to analyst firm Juniper Research.
Mobile operators are increasingly offering their corporate clients a variety of communication suites, which are demonstrating a shift in enterprise spend away from traditional offerings.
The report notes that cloud-based services provide an effective means of retaining customers through hosting solutions such as messaging, presence, managed email, collaboration, conferencing and IP telephony.
Dr Windsor Holden, the author of the report and an analyst at Juniper Research, said: “If an enterprise makes the decision to store data in the cloud, it is imperative that a solution is in place that can dynamically tag and sort that data to determine which data can go to the cloud and which individuals are permitted to have access to that data."
