BT offers new Ethernet VPN and E-LAN services.

UK telecoms provider BT has announced the expansion of its Ethernet VPN services to six additional countries and the launch of international E-LAN services.

BT’s Ethernet VPN service is now available in six additional countries covered through long lines. The two can now be combined to allow customers the benefits of both E-Line and E-LAN services.

The new E-LAN service will cater to organisations which required using Ethernet to any connectivity between sites. It is typically used to connect sites and applications that have complex and rapidly changing network traffic patterns.

“BT Connect, our portfolio of network services, is now an even richer set of services that meet the different needs of our global customers, covering IP, Ethernet, internet and application performance management,” said Neil Sutton, VP global portfolio, BT Global Services. “By extending the availability of that service to 28 countries and adding capabilities such as E-LAN, we are now offering a highly compelling solution in the market.”

BT’s Ethernet VPN platform is predominantly available in Europe but there also a reach in Canada, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and the US.
