The network will be based in Telehouse’s newest data centre on the Docklands site, Telehouse West, and connect directly with the service provider based at the event.
“We are proud that Telehouse has been awarded with this highly critical responsibility,” said Michelle Reid, sales and marketing director at Telehouse. “We have been expanding our footprint in the media arena, and a large proportion of our customers conduct online broadcasting with a global reach. We are already talking to some of the world’s leading media content providers about plugging into the host broadcaster platform at Telehouse West.”
Implementation of the plan will begin early next year, with customers being able to lease connectivity into the data centre for a select period of time during the event.
Telehouse estimates that almost two thirds of the world’s population will be watching the event next year.
