GTS Central Europe has upgraded its Ethernet VPN network to offer additional services including Quality of Service (QoS) and online performance monitoring.
The additions to its service are designed to allow customers to measure and monitor network parameters and service utilisations in real time. GTS attributes much of the investment in its Ethernet platform to demand from vertical sector clients, including finance, insurance, media and healthcare.
“The Ethernet has frequently become the platform of choice for data services because of its easy scalability and high transparency,” said Ignacio Irurita, CTO at GTS. “Our performance monitoring features not only increases the control and assurance of customers’ network, but strengthens their confidence in our Ethernet services.”
In total, GTS has announced an upgrade of four services on its Ethernet platform, including a newly defined QoS platform which is intended to separate data into classes for different customers, monitoring the network to identify data delay, delay variance and lost data frames in addition to a managed CPE service.
With the latest development, GTS hopes its Ethernet offering provides a viable alternative to traditional VPN services, and aids vertical sector demands for high-speed and high transparency connectivity.
