BOKU has launched direct carrier billings with both Bouygues Telecom and SFR, giving nearly all mobile users in France access to BOKU’s mobile payments service.

With San Francisco-based BOKU already having an existing direct billing with Orange France, the latest partnerships bring an additional 32 million french customers the ability to pay for digital goods and services using only their existing wireless service account.

Bouygues Telecom and SFR, which is a subsidiary of Vivendi, plan to launch a service that enables consumers to purchase goods online using BOKU to pay with their mobile phone number. The service features a secure payment mechanism and provides online merchants access to a full range of price points of up to 10 Euros.

"France accounts for more than 50 Million mobile subscribers and has one of the most advanced online markets in the world,” said Mark Britto, CEO of BOKU.

BOKU now operates in 65 different countries through 230 different carriers globally.
