Reader profile: Gina Nomellini, One Source Networks

Gina Nomellini is the chief marketing officer of One Source Networks, having joined the company in November 2010.

Her new role back in the US comes after spending three and a half years working for Telstra International in the Sydney. One Source Networks is a carrier agnostic network solutions provider. “I have been reading Capacity since 2004 when I was working in the US for Broadwing Communications before moving to Level 3. In this role, I could use the magazine to aid my work in managing global offnet services. Capacity is a valuable resource for providing a global view of the industry, which is useful to our business and its operations. One Source Networks procures solutions from over 120 contracted vendors around the world to service the needs of our Fortune 1000 client base, which means we need to spot new players and monitor their expansion plans. In particular, we need to know what markets those players are moving into to see if they will compliment or expand our existing footprint. Capacity helps us identify those newer companies and monitor their growth. Capacity is also valuable for its coverage of market trends and new technologies. For example, One Source is a facilities-based global VoIP supplier. We are focussing on enhancing features for our VoIP services, as well as our unified communications, cloud-based applications and global Ethernet which are all areas covered thoroughly by the magazine.

The sections that prove most useful and enjoyable to me in an international business are the industry news and executive changes. I also enjoy features on new cable or fibre build since those are highly relevant to my business area. Capacity proves particularly useful in shedding new light on a topic which I can then discuss with my colleagues, helping us to gain a fresh perspective on our work.”
