Telxius’s Valdes joins Google global network acquisition team
Google has hired Telxius’s Enrique Valdes to join its global network acquisition team, based in Zürich, after nearly two decades with the Telefónica group.
He announced his move on LinkedIn, saying: “Now it is time to start a new stage with great enthusiasm.”
Valdes (pictured) had been VP of sales for Telxius in Miami since May 2018, having previously been marketing director for the cable business, based in Madrid.
Now, according to his post, he is based in Switzerland with Google’s network acquisition team.
Enrique Blanco, global director of systems and networks at Telefónica, said: “Professionals like you have made Telefónica a good company. Good luck in your new life and thank you.”
Valdes wrote: “I owe everything that I have become today professionally to Telefónica. Thank you so much to all of you who have accompanied me throughout these 26 years, inside and outside.”
His profile shows that he became director of strategic marketing for Telefónica Deutschland in Munich in 2002 and then moved to Madrid as head of IP services and then head of IP wholesale services.
He moved to Telxius, when Telefónica separated out its towers and subsea business, in 2016.
