Located at 666 Walnut Street Des Moines, Iowa 50309, the deployment marks Hurricane Electric’s first PoP in Des Moines and second one in Iowa.
Connect Des Moines a Midwest's carrier hotel and is built into a 25-story building with round the clock security. It offers colocation services such as N+1 power, 6,000 square feet of total space, private, secure entrance, build-to-suit, turnkey managed suites available, interconnectivity options available to carriers, cloud providers, fibre and wireless network providers and content providers.

Driven by the city’s access to capital, the Greater Des Moines area has seen many start-ups have taken up residency there, while also taking advantage of the workforce coming out of the University of Iowa.
Over the last ten years, tech companies such as Facebook and Microsoft have opened data centres in Greater Des Moines and the area is poised to become the new insurance capital of the US.
Through this new PoP, customers of Connect Des Moines, now have access to variety of new connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric’s extensive IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE, 10GE and GigE ports.
In addition, customers at the facility can also exchange IP traffic with Hurricane Electric’s global network, which offers over 20,000 BGP sessions with over 9,000 different networks via more than 250 major exchange points and thousands of customer and private peering ports.
Back in October, Hurricane Electric expanded its global network to Providence, its first location in Rhode Island and its fourth in New England.
