Etisalat deal puts Khazna in top spot for UAE data centres

The UAE has a new largest data centre provider after Etisalat Group and G42 signed a binding agreement to merge their data centre operations.

A total of 12 facilities will be combined in a new joint venture business operating under the Khazna Data Centers brand. Etisalat and cloud computing company G42, said the deal would create the UAE’s largest data centre provider, owned 60:40 by Etisalat and G42.

Hassan AlNaqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centers, said: “The levels of data produced, stored, and analyzed is increasing exponentially in the Middle East region, driving significant demand for wholesale data centers.
