Zayo snaps up AWS's Ginna Raahauge
Zayo has appointed angel investor and former AWS exec Ginna Raahauge, as its chief information officer.
In her new role Raahauge will oversee IT operations, provide strategic direction for Zayo's enterprise systems, and deliver IT solutions to drive operational excellence and innovation. As a member of Zayo’s executive leadership team, she will report directly to CEO, Steve Smith.
Commenting on her appointment, Smith said: "With her extensive and invaluable experience as both a CIO and CTO, Ginna is an ideal fit for the CIO role at Zayo.
"Ginna will be key to ensuring Zayo maintains a competitive edge in a fast-changing IT marketplace by providing best-in-class solutions to our employees who serve customers as they deploy top-notch digital infrastructure solutions based on Zayo’s products and technology.”
Raahauge has more than 28 years of experience as a CIO and CTO for global organisations, from pre-IPO to Fortune 100 companies.
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), she served as an executive in solution and sales engineering for leading teams who work with start-ups to enterprises, covering everything from infrastructure through to application development.
She previously served as CTO and SVP of strategy, architecture and M&A for Catholic Health Initiatives and on the advisory board of Sutter Hill Ventures.
In addition to her new CIO role, Raahauge will continued to act as a technology advisory board member for Greylock Partners and she is also the co-founder of an angel investment firm, which specialises in bringing capital to demographics that have historically been ignored.
Commenting on her new role, she said: “Zayo is at the forefront in supporting its customers' need to accelerate digital transformation in their organizations.
“As CIO, I look forward to working with our talented team and enabling the systems and processes necessary to continue to drive innovation for our customers.”
