Colt Technology Services confirms that it is now interconnected at over 200 public cloud on-ramp locations globally.

The 200 locations cover the vast majority of the existing public cloud points of presence (PoPs) in Europe and Asia.

The news comes as Colt continues to expand its cloud on-ramps, connecting to Oracle Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud and Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.

According to the company, exceeding 200 on-ramps makes "Colt a leading cloud incumbent in Europe and Asia" and enables the company to bring enterprise sites even closer to the cloud for even lower latency.

In addition, Colt’s footprint of cloud PoPs also allows it to offer customers significant cloud PoP diversity options and fully resilient connectivity in one country or cloud region.

“Many years ago, at the start of the rise of cloud, Colt made its first interconnect with AWS Cloud. Today, with over 200 public Cloud on-ramps – more than most providers in Europe and Asia – we’ve become a global cloud incumbent for connectivity," said Keri Gilder (pictured), CEO of Colt.

“At Colt, we know there is a direct correlation between the success of cloud migration projects and connectivity. We’re committed to serving enterprise cloud requirements with our flexible, high bandwidth and low latency network. This landmark is an example of that and our determination to become the network platform underpinning enterprise cloud transitions.”

New research from Colt shows that enterprises are engaging with a new era of cloud possibilities and embracing a whole new generation of cloud-centric compute and connectivity.

In other news, in late July Colt announced that it will provide connectivity to Cboe Europe Derivatives (CEDX) via Colt’s financial extranet, Colt PrizmNet.

Colt will offer connectivity to the new pan-European equity derivatives market when it launches in September 2021.

“We’re excited to become one of the first connectivity partners to provide customers access to CEDX. This new market will disrupt the way European equity derivates are traded, driving greater on-screen liquidity, better price improvement and a more holistic market structure," said Matthew Reinholds, segment sales director of global capital markets & Asia enterprise at Colt.

Colt PrizmNet’s low latency network and SLA guarantees mean connectivity to CEDX can be turned on quickly and efficiently for existing and new PrizmNet customers. Colt connectivity will accelerate time to market and reduce the risk of slippage and lost trades for customers accessing the exchange.

“We are pleased that Colt will be providing connectivity to CEDX in September, and that its clients will gain access to the benefits of a modern, transparent and pan-European equity derivatives market,” added Stephen Dorrian, senior director, head of European market data at Cboe Europe.
