In her own words, Angselius-Schönbeck’s day usually starts with “my loving husband making me a cup of coffee and, whilst enjoying the best drink of the day, I digest the world news and do the morning round of e-mails before preparing for my daily team meeting at work”.

Like many, exercise also features as part of her daily activities, with a new sport to engage with – Padel, a racquet-based sport that has been growing in popularity in Sweden and is an activity that Angselius-Schönbeck says has become “my health addiction and one source of joy and laughter”.

Having joined Artificial Solutions as chief impact officer only six weeks ago, Angselius-Schönbeck and her team have already signed up three partners and four customers at the company, which builds systems for organisations using automation with conversational AI.

“Starting a new job, in the midst of an ongoing pandemic, has been a challenge as communication has become two-dimensional, consisting of only voice and video,” says Angselius-Schönbeck.

“I really look forward to meeting my colleagues in real life and taking them for lunch in Barcelona. I think many people long for the human connection and shared experiences, which is key in building a strong culture.”

Artificial Solutions boasts a company that is 40% females, which is inspiring for Angselius-Schönbeck. “As a woman in tech, and in AI, I am helping to shape the future world and the future of work, which is truly fascinating.

“As a mindset, I hope that parents help their children understand that engineering and its innovations are just as creative as studying social sciences, and maths is a language to master, as is Spanish or Mandarin. I urge females to take part in free courses in AI.”

During this challenging period owing to the pandemic, Angselius-Schönbeck says that she has stayed positive, “knowing that our technology will help create a better world”.

She adds: “It is an amazing feeling to be part of a company that will enable a world without barriers and to be a part of an industry that is changing the world and the future of work.”
