Global connectivity services firm Hurricane Electric has deployed a new point-of-presence at Internet Port Hamburg (IPHH), its second PoP in the northern German city.

The IPHH data centre is strategically located to provide reliable services to customers in and around the key German business centre of Hamburg (pictured). The new PoP is located at Wendenstrasse 408, Hamburg.

IPHH is a full-service provider, offering server hosting and housing, domain management and solutions and consulting for all IT sectors.

The deployment will provide enterprises with improved fault tolerance, load balancing and congestion management in the delivery of next generation IP connectivity services, Hurricane said.

Customers of IPHH and others in and around Hamburg now have a variety of new connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric’s international IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE, 10GE and 1 GigE ports.

Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric, said: “This PoP will help satisfy the growing bandwidth needs of customers of IPHH and throughout this region.”

This April, Hurricane Electric added 13 points-of-presence across the EdgeConneX international edge data centre footprint, to lower latency and improve operations for businesses.

Those new PoPs in Europe and North America, said Hurricane, will bring IP data transit and access to data storage and multi-clouds closer to enterprises and end-user applications.

Hurricane Electric is connected through more than 250 major exchange points and exchanges traffic directly with more than 9,000 different networks.
