TIM’s new cloud company, Noovle, is partnering with Cisco to develop cloud activities for business and the public sector.

The companies — including Noovle’s parent, the former Telecom Italia — said they will support the migration of businesses toward hybrid working models, characterised by new technological requirements.

Noovle CEO Carlo d’Asaro Biondo (pictured) said: “The partnership with Cisco will allow us to assist businesses in the digital transformation challenge using advanced multi-cloud services that ensure efficiency, cost benefits and security.”

TIM launched Noovle in January 2021, saying it wanted it to be an Italian centre of excellence for cloud and edge computing. The company said this will boost the offer of TIM’s public, private and hybrid cloud services to businesses, from SMEs to large industry and public administration.

“We are providing the public and private sectors with automated platforms and cloud solutions that allow customers’ needs to be managed, from connectivity to services,” said d’Asaro Biondo.

“The activities and projects that we will implement alongside Cisco are in line with the croup’s wider objective to contribute to Italy’s digitisation”.

The partners will use their respective infrastructure and expertise, including using the cisco co-innovation centre in Milan that is dedicated to cybersecurity and data privacy.

Noovle will provide its own multi-cloud services and solutions, as well as its data centres and around 1,000 dedicated professionals, said the company.

Cisco VP Paolo Campoli said: “Together, we want to make sure that the cloud combined with the network is a solid strategic platform, on which Italian businesses can rely in order to face the challenge of relaunching – by transforming the need to adapt to new scenarios and hybrid working environments into leverage for competitiveness.”
