Everstream, a US-based fibre network provider, confirms the completion of its acquisition of fibre network assets from Uniti, for an undisclosed sum.

This latest purchase extends Everstream’s fibre network into Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Northern Delaware along with acquiring existing Uniti customers. As a result, two major metro markets, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, are now connected to Everstream’s high-capacity network in other cities across its growing footprint.

“Everstream’s acquisition of the Uniti network assets in Pennsylvania has given us access to new fibre infrastructure and customers across Pennsylvania,” said Brett Lindsey (pictured), CEO of Everstream.

“As we continue to densify our network, these markets will experience not only Everstream’s high-capacity, low-latency connectivity services but also our unrivalled commitment to customer service.”

Announced back in November 2020, the deal was touted as extending Everstream’s fibre network by 35%, adding 5,600 route miles to its fibre network.

Now that the deal has been completed Everstream’s network now includes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and more than 10 additional cities.

It also benefits from dense fibre coverage in the greater Philadelphia and Pittsburgh areas, as well as an overall mix of both metro fibre and long-haul fibre.

It also features direct connection to Everstream’s existing fibre network infrastructure in Pennsylvania and its other markets, access to more than 52 data centres, which is growing. And lastly the opening of local offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in the third quarter of 2021.

In related news, January saw Everstream confirm fibre builds in seven Midwest markets — which will help to connect more than 2,000 macro cell towers.

The new networks will total more than 1,000 route miles, serving the cities of Fort Wayne and South Bend, Indiana; Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky; and Cincinnati, Dayton, and Toledo, Ohio.

Following that April saw the company promote Bill Major from CRO to company president and Joe Pellegrini to the role of CCO, both reporting to CEO Brett Lindsey.
