France's IPLine has been acquired by Belgium-headquartered Destiny, which is gaining six data centres into the bargain.

Destiny, a growing cloud communication services provider, has further expanded its data hosting and security services business with the deal, which comes shortly after it acquiring Alliantel in France also (which specialises in the same markets as IPLine).

Rhône-Alpes region-based IPLine offers network services, data hosting, information systems security and unified communications solutions from six ISO 27001-certified data centres located across its home region and also Île-de-France.

IPLine is particularly active in the healthcare sector and offers its Healthcare Data Hosting solution (HDS), enabling it to support healthcare organisations while meeting their data compliance needs.

After the latest deal, the Destiny group now employs 450 across Belgium, France and the Netherlands, with 180 staff located in France. With the combined new business, Destiny says it expects to reach a turnover of €120m in 2021, with 40% of that being generated in France.

The value of the latest acquisition has not been disclosed. Daan De Wever (pictured), CEO of Destiny, said: “We are expanding our expertise and strengthening our position as a reliable partner in cloud communication solutions for SMEs as well as large enterprises.

“This merger is part of our ambition to become a key player in Europe in terms of cloud communications. We want to be one of the preferred suppliers in the markets where we are present.”

IPLine's co-founders Thierry Coussy, Willy Chantre and Franck Dunière now all become shareholders of the Destiny group and will join the Destiny management team in France.

Destiny customers include Cevora, Colruyt, Decathlon, Democo, DPD, Ecover, Gabriëls, Interparking, McDonald's, Würth and ZEB.
