Vertiv has doubled its capacity for prefabricated modular data centres in EMEA with a new factory in Croatia.

The €10 million investment at Rugvica will support its integrated modular solutions business, and compared to the previous factory the site offers 130% more indoor space and 60% more outdoor space.

There is also space to expand further in response to demand, said Vertiv. The facility (pictured) is designed to provide a complete range of modular solutions, to support anything from cable landing stations to bespoke data centre building blocks. The factory will also construct air handling units.

The new factory has helped to create about 150 jobs for the firm's EMEA operation. Giordano Albertazzi, president for Vertiv in EMEA, said: “We are seeing strong growth in the adoption of prefabricated modular solutions to support new technologies like 5G and AI, and we are investing both in capacity and innovation to stay ahead of the curve.”

Vertiv’s offerings include Vertiv SmartMod, a fully self-contained, “easily-configurable” and ready-to-order product range that enables new data centre white space to be rapidly deployed, and the Vertiv Power Module, a power-dense critical infrastructure that can be quickly deployed as a stand-alone unit.
