Pan-African group Paratus says it is close to finishing building its new data centre in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia.

The tier-3 data centre will be complete in July, said the company.

The data centre will be connected to Paratus’s extensive African network, “while also enjoying strategic relationships with other carrier networks to deliver a world-class pan-African network”.

The company says that it can “deliver an end-to-end, single-point service solution to your door”.

Marius Van Vuuren, managing director of the company, said: “The Paratus data centre is a milestone for Zambia and neighbouring countries and marks the dawn of a new technological era for Zambian businesses. Not every successful business should outsource all of its critical data and systems to one vendor. They need more diversity to spread risk and ensure business continuity. This is where we come in. It’s time to think big about data and be part of Zambia’s quality network.”

Van Vuuren said the Paratus Zambia data centre will not only be an infrastructure addition to the Zambian ICT sector, “but an investment that will help to raise the level and quality of technological services available in the country. For the company, it is the assurance of new revenues in a market sector where competition is increasing in Africa.”
