Bulk Data Centers is to welcome a new executive vice president from September 1 – the former CEO of DigiPlex.

Gisle M. Eckhoff joined DigiPlex in August 2014 as CEO and is also the former SVP and MD of CGI Group Inc.’s Norway operations. He held senior management roles at both country and regional levels for CSC.

In his new role at Bulk Data Centres, Eckhoff will lend his expertise on growth and expansion, initially to build the firm's presence in the Nordics. "Bulk has a clear strategy to play a leadership role in the growing infrastructure services market in the Nordics" the firm said.

Commenting on his new role, Eckhoff said: “With so much untapped market potential in the Nordics, Bulk with its strong focus on sustainability, the significant investments in network fibre and a long track record of land banking will give me and the team a great platform for unlocking the power of the Nordics.

“This is an exciting place to be at an exciting time,” he added.

With a focus on sustainable digital infrastructure, Bulk Infrastructure is active in data centres, fibre networks and real estate. To date, it has developed more than 400,000 sqm of industrial buildings, including data centres, as well as 10,000km of subsea and terrestrial fibre networks.

Jon Gravråk, CEO at Bulk Infrastructure added: “Gisle adds precisely the right energy and independent leadership to propel Bulk Data Centers into a Nordic Blue Chip calibre organisation.

“With Gisle onboard as our new head of data centre, we are confident that we can succeed with both organic and structural growth throughout the Nordics,” Gravråk continued.
