Using HPE’s MEC solution, Globe is able to deliver low latency cloud services at the edge of its network and will be delivered to select users via a newly built edge incubation lab, with Globe specifically moving data-intensive workloads such as AI and machine learning closer to customers for faster data processing and analysis.

HPE’s offering is a pre-integrated, telco-grade MEC solution capable of integrated management, service operation, and traffic control. The HPE MEC as-a-service solution is delivered through HPE GreenLake giving Globe the ability to start small with the ability to scale up in line with future requirements.
In addition, Globe has now offering select customers value-added edge services such as AI-powered video analytics, industrial automation, cloud gaming, and VR retail services. Once the trial is completed, the company plans to roll-out its edge services at scale via its 5G network.
The MEC solution also provides telcos with an end-to-end edge application management platform that can be configured across a multi-vendor, multi-cloud environment.

The Globe Edge Incubation Lab is built on HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10 Plus and has been developed in partnership with technology partners, including Intel and Saguna, enabling telcos and their customers to work with their preferred software providers.
Additionally, the MEC solution will be available on a pay-as-you-go or subscription basis via HPE GreenLake and HPE is in discussion with various operators in Asia Pacific to further rollout the incubation partnership program.
