IBM makes senior management appointments for managed infra NewCo

IBM has appointed members of the executive team to lead the independent company to be created following the separation of IBM’s managed infrastructure services business (NewCo).

NewCo is set to become a global player in the management and modernisation of IT infrastructure which the company’s new name to be announced over the next few months, and the spin out of the business due to complete before the end of the year.

The appointments are comprised of Elly Keinan as group president  (pictured above) and Maria Bartolome Winans as chief marketing officer (pictured below).

“These executives bring great global expertise as we build a purpose-led culture for our new company,” said Martin Schroeter, the recently appointed NewCo CEO.

“Elly and Maria have deep knowledge of the industry, and they share our unwavering commitment to our talented employees and to the success of our customers. I know they will play a pivotal role in the leadership team we are building to deliver excellent value to customers and shareholders.”

Keinan has more than 30 years’ experience in the technology industry and most recently served as a venture partner at Pitango Venture Capital, an Israeli venture capital group. He also served as general manager of IBM North America, general manager of IBM Latin America, and chairman of IBM Japan, to a name a few.

In addition, Keinan serves on the boards of several technology companies, as well as the board of directors of the United Way of New York City.

Winans has had a 25-year career at IBM and has spent the last three years as the chief marketing officer for IBM Americas. In this role she was responsible for marketing sourced revenue, demand generation and all geography marketing professionals across North America, Canada, and Latin America.

In addition, she has led marketing teams in IBM’s Watson business and in IBM’s Software unit and is considered a leader in IBM’s Hispanic community.
