American Tower confirms the launch of a new channel program to support its Edge Data Center solution.

The launch comes as demand for infrastructure at the edge is accelerating at pace and the program allows designated agents to help customers collocate in the six Edge Data Centers in Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; Boulder, Colorado; Denver, Colorado; Jacksonville, Florida; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

“With the focus on enterprise network elasticity and network disaster recovery, demand for bandwidth and connection from users at the edge is rising,” said David Fox, director of business development, US Tower Innovation at American Tower.

As part of this initiative, American Tower has signed XaaS1 as its first master agent agreement to deliver enhanced customer service. Together the two will bring data centre collocation at the edge for improved enterprise network elasticity and optimised low latency 5G applications.

“The strategic location of our Edge Data Centers will help meet this demand. Because of XaaS1’s established relationships, our first master agent agreement will be a great vehicle to extend services to users who need critical data-intensive applications to work quickly and efficiently at the edge,” added Fox.

At the same time, American Tower also launched its new Partner Relationship Management tool that allows agents to access technical training and marketing resources, register and track prospective customers, and streamline payment and workflow in a single online platform.

In addition, agents can reach out to customers on behalf of American Tower to provide site information, such as cabinet space, cross-connects, connectivity options and IT support, including remote hands offerings.
