VIRTUS Data Centres has announced the appointment of Dominic Fulford as SVP of Technical Operations.

The company said Fulford will report directly to Neil Cresswell, CEO of VIRTUS Data Centres, as he joins the leadership team.

Fulford will be responsible for all aspects of Technical Operations and Customer Service for VIRTUS and its data centres, according to the company.

His primary focus will be delivering ‘zero downtime’ for customers through operational safety and zero defects quality across the business.

“In my role at OCI, I was a VIRTUS customer for four years. This has given me a deep insight into the way VIRTUS operates, delivering solutions that help organisations realise their digital strategies,” said Fulford.

“I am proud to be joining the team and look forward to bringing an additional dimension to VIRTUS’ understanding of customer needs.”

Fulford has over 25 years of experience in IT operations in the data centre and technology industries and joins VIRTUS from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), where he was the Senior Director leading Global Data Centre Operations.

He played a key role in the OCI implementations in Frankfurt and London and led the Data Centre Global Operations Organisation, with 30 availability domains and over 300 staff in 15 countries.

Neil Cresswell, CEO for VIRTUS Data Centres said, “Dominic is a great addition to our leadership team.

“He brings a great deal of valuable experience that will be pivotal to the success of our strategy for growth and ongoing goal of providing customer service excellence, especially at a time when data centre infrastructure is critical to the digital economy.”

VIRTUS Data Centres recently unveiled expansion plans to its West London campus in Slough, UK – which is the latest in the company’s portfolio of 11 UK data centres VIRTUS plans to build.
