Indigo Telecom Group Limited has named its new chief commercial officer and group product and bid director as part of its ongoing expansion plans and recruitment drive.

Chris Newall (main picture), a telecoms executive with over 20 years of experience, will join the business as CCO while Mark Orchart has been promoted to group product and bid director after nearly three years working operations and sales.

Commenting on the appointments, Indigo Telecom Group’s Chairman, Kevin Taylor, MBE, said: “We’re very pleased to be welcoming both Chris and Mark to the Indigo Telecom Group leadership team as we enter a new phase of growth for the company.

“With plans to grow the businesses in the UK, Ireland and internationally over the next 12 months, Chris and Mark bring invaluable experience and knowledge of our business to the table,” Taylor added.

Newall joined the UK-based global firm from Ciena, where he helped drive significant growth and commercial success as part of the EMEA leadership team. He said: “With a clear and focused strategy for growth it’s a great time to be joining Indigo Telecom Group as we expand both the capability and delivery to our global markets.

“With an experienced and talented team, I’m looking forward to meeting the needs of our customers through our growing services portfolio,” Newall added.

Orchart holds more than 25 years telecoms industry experience and has been prior to joining Indigo in 2017, had worked for Ericsson, Telecity and Alcatel. With this new appointment Orchart becomes part of the leadership team.

He said: “I’m looking forward to beginning my new role and becoming part of the new Indigo Telecom Group leadership team at a time when the business is growing fast and scaling up operations. Our services portfolio is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our growing customer base. What excites me most is the growth plans the company has in place and the team we’re building to put these plans into action.”
