Eurofiber Group has appointed Chris Bakx (pictured) as its managing director of group marketing.

Effective as of 1 June, will Bakx will be responsible for strategic marketing for the Eurofiber Group.

‘With Chris we have succeeded in attracting one of the best marketeers in the sector,” said Jeanine van der Vlist, CCO of Eurofiber.

“He has the experience and the drive to take our strategic marketing to the next level, fueling our growth ambitions.’

Prior to his appointment, Bakx started his career as a consultant, after which he made the switch to the telecom sector.

From 2005 he worked at Liberty Global, where he held a variety of international senior management and executive positions, including product management, pricing, and commercial development.

Most recently, he served as chief marketing officer Central & Eastern Europe.

Earlier this year, Eurofiber named Hans Lehmann as managing director of strategy and corporate development.

In this newly created role, Lehmann will become a member of the executive committee responsible for developing and executing Eurofiber’s international growth strategy.

Based in London, Lehmann will report into Eurofiber CEO Alex Goldblum.

Both appointments follow the company’s acquisition of Eurafibre, ATE and Eura DC in France.

All three sister companies are based in Lille with strong market positions in the North of France, strengthening Eurofiber’s footprint in the area.

Specifically, the three companies offer fibre-optic connectivity, cloud and managed services as well as data centre and colocation facilities.
