Vodacom South Africa has confirmed the names of its new chief officer for strategy and M&A and its new CTO, following the departures of Yolanda Cuba and Andries Delport last year.

Indosat Oredoo’s chief technology and information officer, Dejan Kastelic, is to join Vodacom’s South Africa office from May 1 as CTO.

The news was confirmed in an email to staff from Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub (pictured), who is also Kastelic’s new line manager.

In addition to his position at Oredoo Group, Kastelic also holds the positions of director of Indosat Singapore and deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Posta Slovenije, the state-owned company responsible for postal service in Slovenia.

In June, Puso Manthata will join Vodacom as chief officer for strategy, mergers and acquisitions.

Manthata is a chartered accountant with more than 16 years of experience in investment banking, having worked at multinational investment banks such as Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs.

He has worked across several disciplines, including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, debt capital markets and equity capital markets and his most recent role was at Rand Merchant Bank, where he was the co-head of corporate finance.
