Comtech Telecommunications confirms that it had received a $1.1 million order from a major US satellite communications manufacturer for SATCOM antenna feeds.

During its third quarter of fiscal 2020, Mission-Critical Technologies group, which is part of Comtech’s government solutions segment, received the order for SATCOM antenna feeds for its 1.3 Meter Fly-Away Terminal.

Comtech Telecommunications designs, develops, produces and markets innovative products, systems and services for advanced communications solutions.

“This order continues the long-term success of Comtech’s products within the satellite communications market,” said Fred Kornberg (pictured), chairman of the board and CEO of Comtech Telecommunications.

“Comtech remains dedicated and focused on providing our customers the highest-performance, most cost-effective SATCOM solutions available to support both war fighters and the commercial marketplace."

The Mission-Critical Technologies group is focused on ensuring its customers are able to successfully carry out their mission, whether that be communicating in an austere environment on land or at sea, launching or tracking a satellite, or protecting the cyber security posture of their network.

Earlier this month, Mission-Critical Technologies received an order for additional funding of $9.1 million to provide ongoing sustainment services for the AN/TSC-198A SNAP secret internet protocol router and non-classified internet protocol router access point, and baseband equipment.

“More than ever, it is important that our US Army customer has access to reliable advanced communications equipment and we look forward to providing additional essential equipment and services under our contract in future periods,” said Kornberg.

Prior to this, its Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp, part of its Comtech's commercial solutions segment, received $1.6 million in orders for satellite ground station equipment from an unnamed company described as the world’s largest mobile network operator in China.

“I believe this order is evidence that Comtech’s advanced satellite ground station technologies are essential, especially during a time of difficult conditions caused by the coronavirus.”

“I am cautiously optimistic, that as normal conditions eventually return, additional orders from new customers will be received in the future,” added Kornberg.
