Waters currently serves on the board of directors for Mellanox Technologies. Prior to this, between 2014 to 2019, he served as president, CEO and a member of the board of directors for Integrated Device Technology (IDT), which was later acquired by Renesas Electronics.

“Greg’s deep experience in business transformation in the semiconductor industry with IDT, Skyworks and Agere will be a great asset to Sierra Wireless as we continue our transformation to a solutions and services provider,” Abrams added.
Before this, Waters served as executive vice president and general manager for Skyworks Solutions from 2003 to 2012, where he led the company’s wireless businesses. And prior to this, he joined Agere Systems in 1998, serving in various roles, including vice president of the wireless communications business and vice president of the broadband communications business, and senior vice president of strategy and business development.
His career started at Texas Instruments. in a variety of management positions in sales, customer design centres and product line management.

Earlier this month, Liveable Cities, a division of Canada-based LED Roadway Lighting, has selected Sierra Wireless’ LPWA solution to enable smart city applications.
Liveable Cities is using Sierra Wireless Ready-to-Connect HL78 modules for its SilQ Luminaire streetlight and the tool-less Sensor Platform (TSC) ANSI Controller, which can add radar, pollution and noise sensors to transform any streetlight into a network that provides data to cities.
