Through this expansion customers can now connect in multiple data centre in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane to the company’s network-as-a-service platform that is fully integrated with a number of global cloud, SaaS, IoT and IX providers including Google Cloud, AWS, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, Alibaba, Tencent and NAVER Cloud.
Additionally, customers can purchase access ports in 128 leading on-net data centres across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North and South America as well as Asia and now Australia.
“We are very excited to enable the Console Connect SDI platform in Australia,” said Michael Glynn (pictured), vice president of digital automated innovation at PCCW Global.
“This marks our 40th country on the platform and Australia is also the home of our Console Connect Automation Software team with 50+ software development engineers who are based in Brisbane.”
The automated Console Connect fabric is supported by PCCW Global’s Tier-1 IP backbone as well as its significant MPLS network that cover more than 160 countries and 3,000 cities.
Using the platform Console Connect user can instantly self-provision protected, uncontended, layer2 connectivity on-demand globally.
“The Console Connect SDI platform advantage is its build on top of the PCCW Global MPLS network which today incorporates 664,000km of diverse cable capacity and over 22Tbps of global fibre capacity, affording our customers access to a fully redundant, non-contended global network environment.
“Over the past few months, we have increased our international connectivity into Australia with three cable systems linking with Asia and to the United States,” added Glynn.
The Australian platform allows customers to order international circuits on-demand as well as self-provision services to all the major cloud providers in Australia.
