As part of the collaboration, the two companies will develop new product offerings and run several Palo Alto Networks services on Google Cloud. In addition, Palo Alto Networks will continue to use the Google Cloud Platform to deliver secure access to cloud applications as well as provide enterprise-scale security operations. By putting these solutions in the cloud customers benefit from increased visibility, continuous compliance and enhanced security analytics.

The new security solutions will be designed to support multi-cloud environments and to strengthen threat detection capabilities. Using Anthos, the two will create a security framework for multi-cloud environments, helping customers to automate security operations.
In addition, Palo Alto Networks is building a best-practice security framework for Anthos hybrid and multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments to help Google Cloud customers deploy a common compliance and runtime security posture across all of their workloads.

Through our partnership on Cortex, we bring enterprise scale analytics for prevention detection and threat response on integrated endpoint, firewall and cloud data on our Cortex platform."
As for enhancing threat detection, Google Cloud will combine the intelligence within its own Event Threat Detection product with Palo Alto Networks AutoFocus threat intelligence service. This results in signals based on Google's own internal sources with additional visibility from Palo Alto Networks footprint of network, endpoint, and cloud intelligence sources.
All these services will be available in the first half of 2020.
