Yotta Infrastructure is building the largest data centre in India, Yotta NM1, which is set to go live in January 2020.

Yotta NM1 is situated at Panvel, near Mumbai, and is spread across 820,000 sq ft offering 7,200 racks and 50 MW power.

Yotta Infrastructure, which is a 100% subsidiary of Indian real estate company the Hiranandani Group, started operations in July 2019. It is a managed data centre service provider that designs, builds & operates large-scale hyper density data centre parks in India.

Yotta NM1 will be the first of five data centre buildings that will form Yotta’s Panvel data centre park, which will have an overall capacity of 30,000 racks and 210 MW power. Yotta data centre parks are set to offer “unlimited scalability of colocation space and power to business enterprises and hyperscale cloud operators to better manage their operations for their cloud clusters”.

“At Yotta, we aim to create unlimited scalability for datacenter infrastructure with our data centre parks and Yotta NM1 will be our first DC building to lead this effort. We have cut no corners in making this a truly world class facility,” said Sunil Gupta who is the managing partner and chief executive officer of Yotta Infrastructure. He has built more than 15 hyperscale hyper density data centres.

“Some of the features of this building apart from its size, that truly stand out are: 4 redundant fiber paths, captive and reliable power, 30% power to be sourced from solar and design PUE of 1.4. We aim to make this a world class facility that can cater to the requirements of international cloud, content and OTT operators.”

Yotta says that with its expertise and resources, the company will be able to bring down the data center cost by 15-20% in India.

The first phase of operations will commence with 11 buildings across three data centre parks located in three locations in India - Mumbai, Panvel and Chennai. Spread over 50-acres near major international fibre landing stations, these data centres will have a server hall capacity of over 60,000 racks and 500MW power.
