Infrastructure specialist Eurofiber has acquired Eurafibre, ATE and Eura DC in France for an undisclosed amount.

All three sister companies are based in Lille with strong market positions in the North of France, strengthening Eurofiber’s footprint in the area. Specifically, the three companies offer fibre-optic connectivity, cloud and managed services as well as data centre and colocation facilities.

Together the three companies operate more than 2,000km of fibre-optic network and two local data centres that service 150 business parks and 200 municipalities in Northern France.

We are very happy to join forces with Eurafibre, ATE and Eura DC,” said Alex Goldblum (pictured), CEO of Eurofiber. “The companies fit perfectly in our European growth ambition, especially given their focus and track record for very high customer satisfaction. Eurafibre, ATE and Eura DC Chief Executive Maxence Rousseau: ‘We want our companies to get to the next phase and were looking for a solid partner who could help us in realising that ambition. In Eurofiber, I believe we have found the perfect match on operational and commercial as well as cultural levels. We look forward to working together in serving our current and future customers.”

Eurafibre, ATE and Eura DC complement Eurofiber’s offering both in proximity to their networks and in their vision for open infrastructures. Having that shared vision means that customers are able to choose connectivity, colocation or cloud infrastructure services according to their needs, meaning that they maintain complete freedom to choose the services, applications and providers.

Despite the acquisition, both CEO and CTO Maxence Rousseau as well as CFO and COO Sophie Lebrecht keep their current roles.

This spring, Eurofiber completed an upgrade of its point-of-presence (PoP) at Maincubes AMS01 — a colocation data centre in Amsterdam, providing benefits to car-manufacturer Daimler. The European data centre provider has extended its presence at the facility by extending a DWDM PoP, which adds connectivity and bandwidth options to Maincubes’ fibre.
