Gamma Communications, a UK-based communications provider, has acquired a unified communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) provider for a disclosed sum.

By combining specialist development skills with engineering expertise, the acquisition of Telsis will enable Gamma to fulfil its goal of becoming a leader in the UCaaS market.

“We’re really pleased to announce the acquisition of Telsis,” said Andrew Taylor, chief executive of Gamma. “The development skills they have are core to Gamma’s UCaaS strategy and we plan to enhance our existing engineering teams to provide more resource to accelerate our existing roadmap. We look forward to working alongside the Telsis team as we continue to grow Gamma and capitalise on the opportunities ahead.”

In addition, by acquiring Telsis Gamma can leverage its established routes to market supporting its plans to introduce their expanding portfolio of UCaaS services to the European market.

“We are excited about being part of the Gamma team and working alongside them to accelerate their development plans to further enrich their UCaaS capability,” added Bhavesh Parmar, chief executive of Telsis. “Telsis has a strong reputation for designing disruptive technologies that put human interaction first and through this relationship we will extend our reach and enable a wider range of businesses to access our solutions.”

In a report by Synergy Research Group, the installed base of UCaaS subscribers is set to grow by an average annual rate of 26% over the next five years. According to SRG’s latest UC report, small and mid-sized business still account for almost 90% of all UCaaS subscribers, but the enterprise segment is seeing the fastest growth.
