NTT has continued the global rebrand of its technology operations by confirming that its cloud business, Arkadin, will use the NTT name from today.

The unit, which will be operating as the cloud communications division of NTT, will be headed by Mark Alexander, who has been CEO of Arkadin since July.

This is part of a worldwide operation under which 28 international subsidiaries including Dimension Data and NTT Com will all be NTT Limited, with the brand NTT Com now restricted to Japan. Capacity announced this in an interview with Michael Wheeler (pictured), EVP of NTT’s global internet network, published in July.

Arkadin announced in August that “we’ve changed our logo and from 1 October 2019, Arkadin will start the transition to become fully NTT branded”.

Masaaki Moribayashi, NTT’s board director group executive for IT infrastructure services, said: “We’re delighted to see Arkadin rebrand as the cloud communications division of NTT today and know the team there will play a big part in our helping clients do great things, every day.”

Alexander, based in Atlanta, joined Arkadin in 2010, and became COO last year before becoming CEO in July. Previous CEO Didier Jaubert, based in Paris, now calls himself a “social entrepreneur” on LinkedIn. He was an executive with IBM and then Orange Business Services before joining Arkadin.

Other NTT companies that have already been, or will soon be, rebranded as NTT include: CAPSiDE, Communications Lifecycle Management (CLM), DPA, DTSI Group, Emerio, e-shelter, Euricom, e2y, Global IP Network (GIN), Gyron, Netmagic Solutions, NTT Communications Cloud Infrastructure Services, NTT Communications Managed Services, NTT Global Networks, NTT Indonesia Nexcenter, Oakton, RagingWire, Secure-24, SQL Services, Symmetry, Training Partners, Transatel, Viiew and WhiteHat Security.

The CEO of NTT Ltd will be Jason Goodall, previously group CEO of Dimension Data, who has been with the Dimension Data group since 2000, when he became COO of its internet solutions division in South Africa.

The integration “will take up to a couple of years, though some tasks will be over in a few months”, Wheeler told us in July. “Legal and tax will take longest. This is the beginning of the end, but there’ll be some bumps along the road.”
