Tawasul Telecom has commissioned its second point of presence (PoP) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Oman.

These new PoPs are set to enhance the Middle East segment of Tawasul Telecom’s MPLS network by offering clients and partners route diversity, improved redundancy, as well as cost saving opportunities.

Additionally, the company will be able to provide a portfolio of integrated communications solutions for regional and global clients.

“We have always recognised the unique role KSA plays in the region’s telecommunication sector both in terms of economic opportunities, as well as its place as a key point of intersection for Europe, Africa, and APAC regions. With that in mind, the time was right for Tawasul Telecom to expand its presence in KSA,” said Veer Passi, CEO of Tawasul Telecom.

As for the Oman PoP, the expansion will also enable Tawasul Telecom to better meet the stringent service reliability and security requirements of key market segments such as; oil & gas, government and financial services.

“In our quest for future and sustainable growth, we are continuously on the lookout for smart-expansion opportunities that will upgrade our deliverables, improve pricing, and strengthen the technical capabilities of our network, and the new Oman PoP is a key step in that never-ending quest,” continued Veer.

Earlier this year, the company announced the launch of its first PoP in Egypt, and Veer says this second only strengthens that initial investment.

“As with our new PoP in Egypt, commissioned in the spring of 2019, our second point of presence in Oman is another milestone in the implementation of the strategic plan we have developed for Tawasul. We expect this to be a key driver for our Enterprise and Wholesale divisions in the coming months and years.”
