The signing ceremony took place earlier this week at the AOI headquarters attended by executives from both companies as well as leading network operators, government ministers and industry leaders.
“The technical expertise of the AOI, as well as its experience of working with other technology leaders, make them an ideal partner for Adtran in the region,” said Ron Centis, senior vice president of global operations at Adtran. “Network operators around the world are rapidly moving to Gigabit and 10G as the demand from commercial, industrial and residential customers’ increases to support business and consumer applications and services. We look forward to serving this growing market.”
As part of the agreement, the team will first focus on Adtran’s fibre access portfolio, which includes its XGS-PON, GPON and other SD-Access solutions.

In related news, the company has also announced the launch of its fully managed, cloud-based performance test solution that has been purpose-built to streamline data collection and reporting for network operators that use the Connect America Fund (CAF) program.
“We developed this one-stop, fully-managed subscription service to give our customers peace-of-mind by offering a turnkey option that off-loads the entire testing process, so they can focus on what they do best—providing a superior subscriber experience,” added Derek Foster, Adtran’s services portfolio manager. “We know there is still some uncertainty with the FCC, which causes concern for our customers and that’s why we developed a simple and affordable compliance service.”
