Havas Group, a global communications firm, has chosen Telefónica Business Solutions to manage their cybersecurity across their global footprint.

Under the terms of the agreement, Telefónica Business Solutions will provide support across the global Havas Group’s base of firewalls and network security. In addition, Telefónica Business Solutions will deliver end-to-end integration, support and consultancy to prevent, detect and respond to daily threats.

“All firewalls will be updated automatically and in real time,” said Frédéric Degras, chief information officer (CIO), Havas. “This is a great added value which will limit considerably cyberattacks risks. We choose to partner with Telefónica for its deep expertise in cybersecurity and trust them to deliver high-quality services in our worldwide offices. This agreement will also reduce our global security costs.”

Due to cyber-attacks becoming increasingly more sophisticated and frequent, Telefónica delivers disruptive innovations that enable customers to proactively detect and respond faster to threats, whilst simultaneously protecting their global footprint.

"We are really excited to strengthen our long lasting-relationship with Havas Group through this new agreement,” added Anne Perrin, chief executive officer (CEO), Telefónica Business Solutions – France. “Thanks to our security capabilities, we will make sure that they get the best and fastest cyber resilience services provided from our global network.

Back in June, Telefónica International Wholesale Services (TIWS) also made another announcement in security space with the launch of TUKU Web, its new in-house anti-fraud solution, which helps to prevent and detect potential fraudulent activity, both in incoming and outgoing voice traffic streams.

In related news, earlier this month, Telefónica received approval of its €18 billion Vodafone and Liberty Global eastern European business deal. The Liberty Global acquisition, first announced last year, will expand Vodafone’s European business so that it will have 116 million mobile customers, 24 million broadband customers and 22 million TV customers across 13 countries. Vodafone said that it now expects to complete the acquisition by Wednesday 31 July.
