Cloudscene has today announced the appointment of Belle Lajoie as inaugural chief executive officer to lead the next phase of growth for the company.

Lajoie will commence as Cloudscene’s CEO on 1 May 2019 and Renée Harper, who is presently Cloudscene’s interim general manager will also commence a new role as vice president of marketing and engagement.

Lajoie has played an important role in the growth and commercial success of some of Australia’s most successful technology start-ups and was most recently global chief commercial officer for Megaport, having joined the company in 2014. Prior to this, she worked at NEXTDC and Pipe Networks.

“Cloudscene has experienced tremendous growth since its official launch in 2016, and I am honoured and excited to have someone with Belle’s deep industry knowledge and expertise leading the team to focus on taking Cloudscene to the next level,” said tech entrepreneur Bevan Slattery, founder of Cloudscene.

The role of CEO has been brought on to drive the expansion of the product suite, accelerate user growth and engagement, and implement a series of commercial opportunities to better support the needs of the industry.

Commenting on the appointment, Lajoie added: “I’m excited to lead the Cloudscene team as I’ve always been extremely passionate about the vision of the company and have been an avid user and huge supporter of Cloudscene from day one.

“The team has a vision to build a neutral and trusted exchange platform for cloud and connectivity services. I’m thrilled to now lead the journey towards realising that vision.”

Cloudscene has become a trusted source for colocation data centres, cloud service providers, network fabrics and cloud on-ramps to simplify the buying and selling of cloud and connectivity services. It has comprehensive connectivity data on more than 6,900 colocation facilities across 110 countries and can directly connect enterprises to 7,300+ listed service providers.
