DYXnet Group, a carrier-neutral network service provider in Greater China, today announced a partnership with VMware to launch a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) service.

This makes DYXnet Group the first service provider to launch VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud in Greater China. It will enable enterprises with a cost-effective carrier-grade network capability plus operational benefits.

"Our SD-WAN solution provides an extraordinary user experience, while facilitating a reduction in a client's network costs of up to 50%,” said Wing-Dar Ker, CEO of DYXnet Group.

The move signals a powerful addition to the DYXnet Group portfolio and provides a significantly cost-effective carrier-grade network capability, enabling enterprises to benefit from greater stability, agility, security, manageability and simplicity.

Implementing SD-WAN will help enterprises rise to challenges posed by IT issues such as digital transformation, greater deployment of SaaS, cloud-based applications, the Internet of Things (IoT) concept, a diversity of network technologies, branch complexity and the need for workforces to be increasingly more mobile.

Hong Kong customers will be first to benefit from DYXnet Group's new SD-WAN service, followed speedily by enterprises in Taiwan and mainland China.

SD-WAN infrastructure and service revenues are predicted to grow globally at a 69.6% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to over $8.05 billion in 2021, according to the SD-WAN forecast carried by an IDC 2017-2021 report.

Presiding over 50 points of presence (PoPs), DYXnet Group holds around 20 years' experience in building carrier-grade multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network infrastructure for clients locally, regionally and globally.

Wing-Dar Ker said: "We have been evaluating prospective SD-WAN technology partners over the last two years via exhaustive product testing, fine-tuning and client trials involving carriers, global enterprises and locally-listed companies. We are now pleased to report that VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud uplifts our carrier-grade network to an exceptional level. And we are thrilled by the fact that more than 10 high-profile enterprise clients in Greater China chose DYXnet Group to be their SD-WAN service provider even before we launched the service."

Wing-Dar Ker explained how DYXnet Group's wealth of MPLS network management experience combines well with state-of-the-art technology from VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud to offer zero-touch deployment and centralised provisioning. The solution also provides a flexible hybrid WAN design with connectivity options such as MPLS, broadband and 4G/5G mobility.

He added: "We firmly believe the SD-WAN industry is at a nascent stage, and expect to see DYXnet Group revenue growth rocket twelvefold over the next three to five years, compared with our SD-WAN revenue in 2018."

Franco Lan, general manager of VMware for Hong Kong and Macau, said: "VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud provides customers with flexibility, reliability and better security. We are delighted to collaborate with DYXnet Group. The company's SD-WAN solution enables customers to support growth in use of cloud and other applications in a more secure and cost-effective manner, while boosting network agility and simplifying branch networks."
