QTS Realty, a provider of hybrid colocation and mega scale data centre solutions, and now a Microsoft Azure CSP Direct Reseller partner, is launching its Managed Azure Essential service.

The new solution comes in response to increasing demand for cost-effective cloud management solutions and offers tools to monitor environments, analyse usage, optimise costs and enhance security. It addition, the solution also comes with a 24hour customer support service, automated alerts and consolidated billing.

"Managed Azure is the latest in a growing portfolio of solutions that allow our customers to manage multi-cloud environments," said Chris Ortbals, executive vice president of product & marketing, QTS. "Backed by our software-defined service delivery platform, we help automate the management of our customers' Azure environment by providing industry-leading tools that monitor scalability, performance, cost and security."

Using QTS’ Service Delivery Platform (SDP), QTS gives its users access to a robust hybrid cloud manager, which supports multi-cloud views for all QTS managed public cloud and hosted private cloud services.

The addition of Managed Azure Essential is a key part of QTS’ public cloud infrastructure management strategy. As a result, QTS can now support the consultation and migration of Microsoft Azure workloads into its Managed Public Cloud solution and provides private connectivity from QTS data centres to Microsoft Azure via QTS switchboard, QTS’ new fully-automated interconnection service that connects customers to QTS’ eco-system of data centres and public clouds in a minutes.

QTS joins the likes of Liquid Telecom, which earlier this month rolled out Microsoft Azure across its 70,000km pan-African network.

Back in October, Telxius, the infrastructure company of the Telefónica Group, launched a new point of presence (PoP) in QTS Realty Trust’s Richmond data centre. The news comes as Telxius says it is responding to the growing need for high capacity and low latency connectivity to Europe and South America via its MAREA – BRUSA subsea cables.
