The new solutions comprise an IP optimised silicon enabling 400GbE density in a new 14.4Tb line card, new ACX access ad aggregation platforms and an expanded MX 5G-router portfolio. Together these solutions enable service providers to provide a holistic approach to infrastructure transformation. Combined with Juniper’s existing Contrail software portfolio and the new infrastructure enhancements provide a secure, automated, and cloud-centric architecture.
“Service providers seek agility, cost savings and new services from 5G networks, but capitalising on these benefits requires a complete transformation of infrastructures, operations and services,” said Brendan Gibbs, vice president of product management, Juniper Networks. “With today’s announcement, Juniper Networks is giving service providers the building blocks required to create 5G-ready networks built for simplicity and agility that are capable of supporting immense traffic demands for the future. By combining the attributes of secure and automated cloud architectures, Juniper is ushering in the next era of service provider networking.”
According to Juniper, 5G networks present providers with the opportunity to increase revenue through new services including zero latency applications such as IoT, AR/VR and connected cars. But these services create massive traffic growth and heightened performance demands, new security threats and operational complexity. As a result, service providers must transform their networks to secure, automated and cloud-ready.
In addition, Juniper is launching its expanded Metro Fabric portfolio for streamlined service creation and delivery. This portfolio comprises the 1 RU ACX700 Universal Metro Router that provides the necessary IPsec transport, timing and bandwidth requirements found in the 5G era for agile service delivery.
The 3 RU ACX700 Universal Metro Router, which delivers the high-availability and high-capacity bandwidth required for mission-critical sites projected to scale at fast rates.
As well as new edge innovations in the form of a new MPC11E line card in the MX2000 Series 5G Universal Routing Platform and new core innovations such as Juniper’s new Triton Silicon, which offers enables end-to-end secure connectivity at scale.
