From mid-December, Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier will provide a secure solution via multiple accesses to its global smart IPX network as a way to comply with Tele2’s operational and geo-redundancy requirements.

“It is highly critical that the technical network is able to support roaming. We offer unmatched quality of service and reliability via Deutsche Telekom’s global network to deliver a cost-effective solution combined with the best available security protection.”
The Sweden-headquartered telco operator offers mobile, fixed broadband, data network, cable TV and content services to over 16 million customers in eight countries.
Thomas Björklund, EVP of mobile technology at Tele2, added: “By utilising Deutsche Telekom’s solution for international signalling, we will increase quality for all our roaming customers and complement our networks with a solid and stable solution.”
The agreement between the Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier and Tele2 will facilitate international signalling service to Tele2’s customers in Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands and Sweden.
In line with the first day of Capacity Europe, the international wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom exclusively announced via Capacity on 22 October the adoption of a new name: Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier. With new strategic goals and expanded offerings, the company said, "this name will better reflect Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier’s approach to providing seamless global connectivity".
Rolf Nafziger, senior vice president of Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier, explained the rationale behind the new name: “Technological transformations are happening at amazing speed, opening up a new era of global connectivity. To help our customers prepare for an uncertain tomorrow, we saw the need to make changes to how we conduct our international wholesale business. We will now tighten our focus on fostering innovation, initiating partnerships and exceeding customer expectations – with future-proof solutions and higher flexibility. These actions will secure our place as a driving force shaping the future of telecommunications.”
