Under the terms of the agreement, Cox Business customers will have local, direct and secure connections at the Virginia Beach cable landing station. As a result, businesses will no longer have to connect New York or Florida, reducing latency and ensuring businesses can seamlessly receive high demand IP applications such as VR, IoT and VoIP.

Cox Business is a provider of internet, phone and TV services for startups, SMBs and enterprises. Globalinx delivers subsea colocaion to international cable systems as well as data centre services across 20 acres in the corporate landing ecosystem.

Both parties says that the impact globalisation, is driving the need for Virginia businesses to compete on an international scale.
In July of this year, Globalinx Data Centers confirmed that it is 4 months away from completing phase I of its 10,750 square-foot data centre in Virginia Beach. Once completed the new facility will be equipped with high-capacity space for network carriers, submarine cable operators, enterprises, and hyperscale provider to collocate their networking equipment in a secure location and interconnect in the buildings (999sq m) MMR.
