DE-CIX has announced that RASCOM - a provider of international capacity for telecom carriers and it owns telecommunications facilities and structures – has expanded its presence at DE-CIX facilities across Germany.

RASCOM is expanding the bandwidth of its IP-network in Germany. As part of this expansion, it will start peering at DE-CIX internet exchanges in Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Munich.

DE-CIX and RASCOM have been partnered since 2009, when the capacity provider arranged interconnection with DE-CIX at its Frankfurt facility.

Services offered by RASCOM include providing telecom circuits as well as access to the internet and various integrated solutions of leasing of low latency circuits, VPN, remote access to IX and cloud services.

Since it first partnered with DE-CIX, it has seen its presence expand to include public internet exchanges in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm, Amsterdam, New York, London, Paris, and Kiev. It provides customers with the opportunity to directly connect to the Internet Exchanges in every one of the cities mentioned.

“Our company is one of the carriers that has a strong presence at the largest public IX-s,” Denis Ganza, the CEO of RASCOM CJSC said. “The necessity of constant expanding this presence is connected with our strategy, that is targeted in increasing the network connectivity for the company’s customers as well as acceleration of the interconnection between the networks of other Internet providers.”

It is the latest partnership development for German-based DE-CIX, which has a presence in the US, Dubai, Mumbai, and several across Europe. Earlier this year, it struck a partnership with Omantel Wholesale, which became its first partner in the Gulf to provide direct access to seven DE-CIX Exchanges across Europe and the US.

It also announced plans to launch its fourth enabled site in the German city of Dusseldorf, partnering with Equinix there.
