mu Space names former Qualcomm exec as chief business development officer

mu Space, the Thailand-based satellite start-up company, has appointed Suwit Pruckwattananon as its new chief business development officer.

In his new role Suwit will lead the company’s business development activities, as well as oversee its expansion into new markets.

Commenting on Pruckwattananon’s appointment, James Yenbamroong, CEO and founder of mu Space, said: We are excited to welcome Suwit to the mu Space family! His experience, leadership and knowledge in the telecom sector will create a significant value for the company as we transition to the next phase of our long-term business expansion in the ASEAN region and the US.”

Before joining mu Space, Pruckwattananon spent six years at Qualcomm, the mobile technologies company. While serving as country manager for the company, Pruckwattananon helped to develop 3G/4G LTE businesses and built ecosystems for both mobile phone and IoT in Thailand and Myanmar.

"I am excited to join mu Space and its impressive team,” said Pruckwattananon. “mu Space has established itself as a leading player in the satellite and space industry. I look forward to further strengthen and grow mu Space through the creation of strategic partnerships and expansion into new markets.”

The news comes as mu Space has been actively restructuring its management team to support the company’s growth and increasing operations. The company recently appointed Michael Soodjinda as its new chief finance officer.

“Michael has a wealth of financial experience and knowledge,” said mu Space CEO and founder James Yenbamroong, “and we are confident that with his expertise and enthusiasm for expanding mu Space further on an international scale, he will add significant value to the company.”

The company says that it is also adding 10 more legal, engineering, media and finance professionals to the team, though no time frame for these announcements have been given.
